Whether its Downdog, Updog, Cobra, Pigeon, Warrior, or Dead Man’s pose, there is something in yoga for everyone. The beauty of a yoga practice is that it doesn’t matter how old you are, how strong you are, how flexible you are, or how good you look in yoga pants. When you come to the mat, it’s about you, your breath, your body, and nothing else. It’s a practice of breathing, meditation, control, intention, and celebration of the human body in all of its many shapes, sizes, and abilities.
In honor of International Yoga Day, Savoir Flair has rounded up the absolute best yoga spots in Dubai, from Downtown to Marina. So go ahead. Rock that Warrior Two. Namaste.

Ashtanga Yoga Dubai specializes in – you guessed it – Ashtanga yoga, and it’s the only KPJAYI-authorized yoga school in the UAE to do so. Located in Al Quox, Ashtanga Yoga Dubai also hosts health retreats around the world in various luxury locations. With both group classes and private sessions on offer, and with expert yogis who know all there is to know about Ashtanga, we guarantee you’ll leave feeling like a new person, both inside and out.

As the name suggests, Dryp is a self-proclaimed hub of sweat. With special infrared technology that maintains your body’s heat from the inside, Dryp offers a range of classes from Hot Yoga, to Hot Vinyasa, Hot Sculpt, to Hot Barre, and even HIITasana, but with one difference. Each class is hot. But as this is Dubai, it’s basically like working out in the summer without the humidity.

Although Bay Yoga offers an array of classes and yoga styles, the thing it does best is Bikram. The 90-minute sweaty sessions take place in a heated room – the temperature is a rather steamy 40°C – where humidity can reach up to 40 percent. Let’s just say there’s no point of investing in a blow-dry before this class. With up to 26 different postures, your entire body will be pushed to the limits as you hold each one in the heat. You’ll definitely leave this one feeling a lot sweatier and a lot more supple.

This hippie hotspot in the heart of Jumeirah practically oozes “om…”. Focusing on the spiritual side of well-being, SEVA Experience is all about yoga – lots of yoga – ranging from classic Hatha and dynamic Vinyasa to Tantra and Kundalini. There is also reiki, holistic life coaching, and chakra-reading sessions to complement your practices, which take place in an array of locations including the garden deck, rooftop, or studios. Then, to (rather deliciously) top it all off, there’s the SEVA Table, a place filled with vegan, raw delights such as veggie burgers, turmeric smoothies, and pecan and cinnamon cookies.

Yoga La Vie
Selecting only the best of the best when it comes to its instructors, Yoga La Vie’s chic and cozy studio on The Palm incorporates an array of wellness-focused fitness sessions to help you look and feel your best. But barre and Pilates aside, the yoga classes are second to none, with both beginner and advanced options on the schedule and everything on offer from Hatha to Restorative, Yin to Vinyasa. A particular favorite is the Aerial yoga class, where you can brush up on your Cirque Du Soleil skills while hanging from the ceiling.

Motion Ladies Fitness
A healthy home away from home, the Motion Ladies Fitness villa is nestled in the quiet streets of Umm Suqeim to make for one of the most peaceful spots to practice in Dubai. The yoga room itself is away from the main house, tucked away in a pretty little green garden – a great spot in which to drink a healthy beverage from the in-house juice bar afterward. Book in for a traditional Hatha class or give Swing yoga and “yogalates” (yoga meets Pilates) a try to mix things up.
