Place Vendôme, the Parisian home of luxury brands around the world, has found itself a second location. Qatar has just opened version 2.0 of the iconic shopping destination in DohaPlace Vendôme Mall –  and brands are flocking to the indoor/outdoor spending port of call. All the top luxury brands like Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Tom Ford, Manolo Blahnik, Celine, Gucci, Dior – who have opened not just one but two new boutiques in the heart of the new commercial haven – have set up shop and claimed its place in the buyer’s paradise, and they are far from the only ones.  

With over 1,150,000 square meters of Parisian-inspired architecture spread across four floors, the highly anticipated mall is swiftly becoming not just a hotbed for customers and commerce, but a new and popular tourist attraction as well. Over 580 high-end and mid-level stores to choose from, five-star hotels, fine dining, trendy cafes, dancing fountains, and even a water canal running through it, Place Vendôme Mall is on par with other popular destinations in the region like Dubai Mall, Yas Island, and Mall of the Emirates. Its arrival comes not a moment too soon either with Qatar being the hosts of this year’s FIFA World Cup this winter. It’s no wonder that it is prime real estate.

Historically, customers around the region have made their way to the larger centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to find their coveted luxury items. However, with this new opening, Doha has already started attracting Middle Eastern spending power, not the least of which comes from the Qataris themselves. Additionally, as the Middle East continues to be a focus for major brands, it does feel that along with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Qatar is positioning itself as another desirable destination for travelers around the world.
