It’s not uncommon to see Dubai’s royals out and about greeting people, lending their support to new businesses, and eating at their favorite restaurants around Dubai. With the exception of the Royal Highness title, they’re really just like us – including their impeccable taste in food. Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan – also known as “Fazza” by his adoring fans – is often seen enjoying a meal at some of our favorite restaurants around town and rubbing shoulders with the chefs we love to follow because their food is so yummy.

Next time you’re trying to decide where to grab a meal, consider one of these Fazza-approved restaurants. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll run into a royal.

11 Woodfire

Sheikh Hamdan was spotted at Dubai’s latest neighborhood favorite, 11 Woodfire. We aren’t sure if he went for the fish, the lamb, or the steak, but one thing is certain, he definitely ate well. It’s impossible not when 11 Woodfire’s entire concept is built around an open-fire grill, which guarantees that its savory protein courses are imbued with a delicious smoky flavor.

Adrift Burger Bar

Even the royals like to eat burgers once in a while. Fazza was seen coming out of Adrift Burger Bar’s pop-up at Expo. We can only imagine what he went in for. The Venice Beach burger joint is legendary with our friends from California, and if Fazza didn’t smile at the taste of the sinfully delicious ‘DM Burger’ and curry fries, then we don’t want to know.

*Although we do not have photographic evidence of this particular visit we can legally publish, we know this to be true from our sources.

Is anyone surprised that Fazza was one of Chef Izu‘s first guests to dine at his most recent concept restaurant Alaya? The charismatic chef finally added a Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant to his rapidly growing portfolio, that weaves all the flavors of his life from the Middle East to Africa, and the Mediterranean all into one gorgeous menu.

Alici, the Italian restaurant on Bluewaters Island has everything you could ask for in a great dining experience – stunning view, romantic decor, and delicious food. It always has us coming back for more. Apparently, we aren’t alone in that, as seen by Fazza’s stories back in 2019. Yes, we really did dig that far back.

Avli by Tashas

We wonder if Natasha Sideris knew exactly who would one day be walking through the doors of her restaurants when she founded Tashas Group. Even if she didn’t, it doesn’t surprise us that our royal prince chooses to take his meals at Avli by Tashas. He may not be a chef, but clearly knows good food when he tastes it.

As it turns out, Carine isn’t just our favorite family restaurant with the best ‘Sole Meuniere’ and ‘Tarte Tatin’ outside of France, it’s also one of Fazza’s go-to restaurants. Clearly, we have royal taste when it comes to where to dine.

Caviar Kaspia

Parisian hotspot Caviar Kaspia recently opened its Dubai doors and, of course, His Royal Highness was there. Honestly, Caviar Kaspia is a no-brainer. The food is fit for the Czar of Russia and the atmosphere brings its guests right back to 1927 Paris. Whether you’re a royal, a celebrity, or just a fine-dining enthusiast, Caviar Kaspia has earned its reputation as one of Dubai’s hottest restaurants.

The newly opened Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant Clay was added to the Crown Prince’s ever-growing list of favorites when he was spotted dining with family and friends at the Bluewaters Island establishment. The overjoyed restaurant even shared a photo of the said visit on their Instagram, which showed Fazza and his party enjoying the beautiful interiors and delicious food. Evidently, even the royals are onboard with the recent popularity of ‘Nikkei’ cuisine.

CZN Burak

The larger-than-life and friendly Chef Burak Ozdemir – aka CZN Burak – is constantly hosting a slew of celebrities at his Turkish restaurant downtown. Recently he served Argentinian soccer player Lionel Messi, fighter Khabib Numagomedov, and the funniest TikToker out there, Khaby Lame. However, his first honored guest was Prince Hamdan who came to dine at his restaurant back in December of 2020 when it first opened in Dubai.

We don’t know for a fact if Chef Izu Ani is Fazza’s best mate, favorite chef, or a mixture of the two, but we are constantly seeing him eating  at one of his restaurants. (see Carine above). Not that we blame him. Gaia serves everything our Mediterranean-loving taste buds are yearning for. If you’re hoping to rub shoulders with a royal, we suggest eating here.

L’Amo Bistro del Mare

Newly opened L’Amo Bistro del Mare at Dubai Harbour Yacht Club was delighted to welcome Sheikh Hamdan last May, just a few months after it opened. On its Instagram page, the waterfront restaurant shared a photo of His Highness, where he was snapped with Executive Chef Lorenzo Buccarini, General Manager Carlo Tinelli, and Piero Giglio, Managing Director and Partner of Mine Lifestyle Dining.

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Dubai welcomed our Crown Prince last summer and snapped a picture with the executive chef, Axel Manes. Manes is known to other celebrities as well – namely Mohamed Hadid, father to Bella and Gigi Hadid, who gave Manes a special mention when his new restaurant in Dubai opened.

La Maison Ani

La Maison Ani, a Mediterranean-inspired eatery located at the heart of Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue, is Chef Izu Ani’s latest culinary venture. Shortly after its opening, Sheikh Hamadan paid a visit to the restaurant, giving it his valuable royal stamp of approval. In an Instagram photo taken during his visit, the team described their delight and honor to welcome the Crown Prince, and they look forward to welcoming him again.

La Niña

La Niña is one of the newest restaurants to open in Dubai that had the privilege of serving our Prince the finest food from the Iberian peninsula. The question is did he have the guava ice cream with caramel sauce for dessert or the Cuatro Leches?

Madeleine et Marcel

The French pâtisserie and epicerieMadeleine et Marcel – may have just opened, but His Royal Highness made a point of stopping by to pick up one of their delicious delicacies. As to what he ordered? Our money is on the ‘Galette des Rois’.

The MAINE Land Brasserie

The MAINE Land Brasserie at the ME by Melia in Zaha Hadid’s Opus has also played host to royal visitors. Its old-world charm meets new-world design in its interiors, and its menu overflows with the finest fare from the sea. It’s certainly a must-visit for any resident of Dubai, let alone its Crown Prince.

Sheikh Hamdan visited Masti back when it still had the best view in La Mer. However, seaview or not, Masti’s Indian creations and fusion dishes are still something that gets us excited to visit the beautiful restaurant.

Mimi Kakushi

On UAE National Day, Fazza was spotted dining at the ultra-chic new restaurant Mimi Kakushi. This Japanese-fusion spot is our go-to place when we have guests in town we want to impress. Apparently, it impressed our prince so much, he went there to celebrate our country’s birthday.

Nammos is a regular for anyone in-the-know, and Sheikh Hamdan is no different. It’s hard to beat: beautiful, chic, right on the beach, and with a delicious menu of all our favorite Greek menu items. It’s not surprising he was one of the first ones there when it opened in 2019.

With the amount of times we catch Fazza dining at Dubai’s many Greek restaurants, we’re almost certain it must be his favorite cuisine. His stopover at Opso in Fashion Avenue of the Dubai Mall is just another example of his preference for the Mediterranean diet. That or the fountain views. It’s a toss-up.

Even delivery loves a royal fan. Pinza had a surge of orders when Fazza posted a picture-perfect beach picnic with boxes of Pinza pizzas down the line. We are pretty sure everyone decided to eat Pinza that night. At least we did.

Roka often called ‘Zuma’s little sister’ – is still one of our favorite haunts in the city. We love the sushi, the bone marrow, the buns, the terrace, but we love it even more when we see a certain someone eating with his entourage at the table right next to us.

You would expect nothing less than to see arguably the world’s most popular prince sharing a meal at Sal, the gorgeous beach and pool restaurant at one of the world’s only seven-star hotels. The Burj Al Arab is certainly a place for the rich and famous to gather, and in this case, His Royal Highness made sure to bring with him his young pal, Maj, because that is literally how he rolls.

Fazza Favorite Restaurants 3

Shanghai ME

We are pretty sure Fazza’s favorite place to get a good meal is DIFC, judging by the number of times we see him pop up at one of the many delicious restaurants there. Shanghai ME is another one he has been known to frequent. We just hope he saves room for that enormous fortune cookie dessert.

*Although we do not have photographic evidence at this time, we know this is true from our sources.

She Burger

The Instagram-cult-favorite burger joint which started out of the home of Sheikha Al Eissa and is now a full-fledged She Burger is no stranger to receiving special guests. Fazza is one of them.

Perhaps Fazza is dreaming about traveling to the Mediterranean soon, but he also hit up the travel-inspired restaurant, Somewhere, at the Dubai Mall. At Somewhere, its chefs travel the world and bring back the best recipes they can find and replicate them for their Dubai guests. You can imagine how enticing its menu has been the last couple of years.

Sushi Samba

Not only did Fazza pop by this gem in the sky for a meal, but he brought with him an honored guest. Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted dining with the crown prince at the Japanese/Brazilian fusion restaurant, Sushi Samba, last week while the Portuguese soccer player was visiting Dubai with his family.

Taverna Greek Kitchen

Fazza made a surprise visit to Taverna this past November. The Greek restaurant overlooking Souk Madinat Jumeirah must be on his list for a taste of the Mediterranean, too.

The Arts Club

Early this year, the private members-only venue, The Arts Club, had the pleasure of hosting Sheikh Hamdan for a leisurely afternoon, where he enjoyed lunch at Rōhen. His Highness was photographed with Ajaz Sheikh, the establishment’s CEO, to commemorate the visit.

Hard to beat Urla‘s stunning views of the Burj Khalifa in its romantic, outdoor terrace setting. That is unless you happen to spot a certain member of the royal household. Which one of our editors just did. Today. Our eyes are everywhere.
