Exclusive: Endemage Draws Inspiration from Oman’s Arabian Oryx for Fall
29 OPEN GALLERY

For Fall/Winter 2015, Endemage sends forth a collection of feminine minimalist clothing that combines the perfect workwear wardrobe with elegant gowns for the evening. With inspiration derived from Oman’s national animal, the Arabian Oryx, Omani sisters Lubna and Nadia Al Zakwani deftly weave Middle Eastern culture into a contemporary collection that updates classic staples. Speaking exclusively with Savoir Flair, they share how the rare antelope came to inform their craft; “On one of our family weekend getaways, we passed by the Oryx Sanctuary. The story of how the Arabian Oryx was classified as extinct in 1986 and was the first animal to revert to vulnerable status amazed us.” This beautiful parallel captures an idea of defying insurmountable odds, which translates beautifully into this collection. Indeed the brand’s desert-hued offering may appear to be soft and feminine, but it’s also crafted with sturdy jacquard materials and filled with protective elements like navy capes, floor-sweeping dusters, and structured dresses.
