When a brand has been around as long as Fendi has, one might expect to see it achieve a certain stagnation over time. After all, in the fickle world of fashion, it’s hard to keep fresh ideas pumping through collections cycle after cycle. Fendi, however, certainly doesn’t have that problem. Fall/Winter 2015 is an excellent example of bold, innovative design in the realm of accessories, as the brand excels in its use of gorgeous fur textures, multi-colored leather, cool silhouettes, and smart detail work. The results are fantastic, giving patrons plenty of options for updating their wardrobe in a majorly stylish way for the season.
There are kitschy keychains featuring Karl Lagerfeld ’Karlito’ figurines with punky mohawks, clutches featuring cutout zippered closures that mimic a mod-era motif, elegant pocketbooks covered in macro crystal studs, and slip-on sneakers featuring “angry” monster eyes. Although seriously fashionable, this collection has a good sense of humor, with plenty of novelty details being supported by classic silhouettes and luxury materials. Fendi loyalists will also love the new earth-toned ‘3Jours Petite’ tote and the ‘Peekabo’ bag done in retro corduroy patchwork and enticingly patterned fur.
