“When I was thinking about the next chapter for the Poca & Poca girl and her personality, I thought about her fun side. Yes, she’s into fairytales and she’s sweet, but she also enjoys exploring and discovering secrets, riddles, and games, hence the puzzles,” Karolina Gniewek, co-founder of the Dubai-based Polish brand, tells Savoir Flair. But while Poca & Poca’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, entitled ‘A Tale of Puzzles’, might seem like it follows a light-hearted and playful theme, its designs flaunt serious craftsmanship and tailoring.

The collection features contemporary, feminine pieces filled with whimsy and charm. From emerald-green, drop-waist silk dresses amplified by ruching to wide-legged culottes to incredible structured plaid tops with flyaway sleeves, it offers distinct looks for the discerning shopper. Structure is the key element, as Gniewek renders sturdy fabrics into bell-shaped sleeves, voluminous skirts, wide pants, lampshade crop tops, and circle-sleeve blouses that, at times, seem to defy gravity.
