This week, the Savoir Flair team had the pleasure of shooting the lovely Kuwaiti-born Haya Jhail, co-founder and owner of Snob beauty salon. After growing up in Kuwait, Jhail moved to New York City to study studio arts and painting, and later continued her studies in Montreal. She’s now based in Dubai with her husband and two Golden Retriever pups, and runs the beauty salon with her business partner.
“My partner had always wanted to open a beauty salon, and when I moved here we both realized there isn’t one place you can go to do absolutely everything, like a one-stop shop that’s comfortable and homey,” Jhail tells us. “My love for beauty products and interior design, paired with her drive and expertise, resulted in Snob!”
As we walk through her beautiful home, we can’t help but compliment her impeccable style and attention to detail. With dozens of frames filled with sweet shots of friends, family, and her husband lining the walls, you can feel that here, home is where the heart is. Once we reach her walk-in closet, our fashion hearts start to flutter. Think: Carrie Bradshaw in 2015 (but more organized). Her bags range from vintage Chanel to the latest ‘Petite Malle’ from Louis Vuitton, while her shoes are another level of incredible. “I’m 100 percent a shoe girl! My favorite accessories designer is Aquazzura – I love everything he does; [the designs are] so feminine and, more importantly, comfortable!” Jhail shares.
With such a diverse mix of old and new, Jhail tells us that she “borrows” a lot from her mother (who doesn’t?). “The majority of my closet is made up of items from my mother – I have a monochrome Chanel flap bag of hers from the 80s, which is definitely the oldest item I have.”
Her latest purchase is a pair of sling-back Giambattista Valli pointy pumps [page 22] with flowers stitched on the front; “I searched for them for months!” she shares. As for the first accessory she ever bought for herself? “It was a pair of Jimmy Choo heels when I was still in high school! They were bright yellow and you had to wrap them a few times around the ankle and tie them into a big bow. I still have them just for the memories, even though they’re practically destroyed.”
Before leaving, we can’t help but ask what accessories she cherishes most. “I never leave home without wearing a necklace I made with my husband and family members’ names, and I could absolutely not live without my wedding ring!”

“My husband has an obsession with all things retro. He’ll never throw away this old Nokia and his vintage cassette tapes!”
“As soon as I saw Nicolas Ghesquière’s first collection for Louis Vuitton, I instantly fell in love with this bag.”
“I actually bought the same bag in a plain color the day before, only to exchange it for this one as soon as I saw it.”
“Accessories with fruits are always so fun and summery. Everyone tried to talk me out of buying these shoes, but I had to have them.”
“I actually have a phobia of birds and hate anything with feathers on it, but these were too pretty to pass on.”
