The street style zeitgeist owes a lot to the streets of London, where punk first carved its initials into the greater fashion conscience. As such, London has long been a land of contradictions and surprises, a bastion of heritage brands, high-street labels, and DIY punk aesthetic, which probably explains why London Fashion Week is always so exciting and innovative. The same experimental spirit made its way onto the streets as the shows marched along inside Brewer Street Car Park in Soho. The most stylish women we spotted at Spring/Summer 2016 London Fashion Week preferred extremely luxe accessories, with Gucci’s fur-lined slip-ons and Louis Vuitton’s studded ‘Petite Malle’ bags adding a monied splash to their looks. Feminized tomboy style was also a popular look, with #LFW’s tastemakers showcasing a range of denim trousers and slouchy comfortable separates.
