“Middle Eastern women are very feminine and like to dare, and I love that about them.” Those are the words Jordanian-born designer Amina Muaddi used to describe the women of this region – but the same could be said about her designs for Oscar Tiye. Indeed, when the effort to create the perfect shoe is the central thesis of your brand’s identity, you can be sure that your work will be rewarded with desire. Oscar Tiye makes its mark on the footwear world with a gorgeous Fall/Winter 2015 collection filled with a fantastic selection of booties, that range from minimalist ankle boots to winter-worthy versions with shearling accents, towering heels in lace, suede, or burnished metallics and slim D’Orsay pumps in shades of cobalt blue and orange. “We’ve introduced many new styles this season, and some of them have that timeless feel that will probably turn them into carryovers, like the ‘Naila’, the ‘Noor’ bootie, or the ‘Samira’ bootie,” Muaddi shares with Savoir Flair.
The entire collection has a decidedly luxe, yet wearable, feel, which will resonate well with everyone from the fashion insiders to the businesswomen to the after-dark crowd who will respond favorably to the Victorian cutout heels, winged sandals, and bondage booties. On achieving this effect, Muaddi explains, “I used a lot of suede, lace, nappa leather, calf leather, silk, patent leather, and other materials to give the collection a sophisticated, luxurious, and refined feel.”
