London-based Lebanese designer Noor Fares taps into mythology and mysticism in her fine-jewelry collections, and the recent additions to her three main lines — ‘Geometry 101’, ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, and ‘Tilsam’ — support her devotion to cultural and intellectual pursuits as she continues to hone her aesthetic. For Fall/Winter 2015, ‘Geometry 101’ sees the addition of a gorgeous rhombus ring with a round opal surrounded by white diamonds, while ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ is a testament to her cosmic interests with crescent moon pendants and glyptique wing necklaces and rings. These colorful pieces are carved from turquoise, mother of pearl, mammoth ivory, and aventurine, and are finished with a matte wash. Finally, Fares explores mystic talismans with an evolved ‘Tilsam’ line, which includes spherical pendants, stud earrings, and rings. Her fondness for beautiful colors and minimalist settings makes her pieces a versatile wardrobe solution, but it is the philosophy of her craft that really makes Fares stand out. Her exquisite jewelry is more than just an “accessory” — it is a talisman upon which sentiment, unity, and magic are bestowed.
