Mira Mikati, the co-owner of fashionable Beirut shopping destination Plum, debuted her quirky eponymous line of womenswear at Fall/Winter 2015 Paris Fashion Week. She drew inspiration for her cartoon-splashed collection from the New York-based artist Darcel and his comic alter ego Darcel Disappoints — a funny little eyeball with arms and legs who finds plenty of mishaps in the Big Apple. “His illustrations are based on daily misadventures in New York,” Mikati shares. “There are elements of street art, as well as comic-book motifs, in the clothes. The idea was to design for fall with the playful energy of spring.”

Darcel’s saturated, optic renderings find their way onto smart, tomboyish separates, adding a cheeky sense of humor to the wearable collection. For a closer look at the ridiculously covetable and radiantly optimistic pieces, click through the gallery.
