For Spring 2015, the much-loved clutches of Lebanese accessories brand Sarah’s Bag take a turn for the exotic in the ‘Tropique C’est Chic’ collection. Speaking exclusively to Savoir Flair, founder Sarah Beydoun says the latest designs were “inspired by a tropical summer of island living, sweet, ripe fruits bursting with color and flavor, exotic birds, tropical foliage, sun, sea, and all the sights, sounds, and flavors of summer.”
Every season, Sarah’s Bag seems to outdo itself. As a brand renowned for its unique structure – it employs over 200 female prisoners and ex-prisoners in Lebanon and trains them as skilled artisans – its aesthetic gets more intricate and stronger with each collection. The spring designs feature vibrantly colored clutches and leather bags made with exquisite beadwork and woodwork, some of them adorned with tropical birds, fruits, and landscapes. “We are constantly updating the skills of our artisans by providing training on a regular basis,” Beydoun explains. “Some of them have been working with Sarah’s Bag since we launched in 2000 and have become veritable masters at what they do. I am very proud of the impeccable handwork in this collection.”
