Sandra Mansour’s previous collections have been stellar, but she set the bar even higher with a future-forward new collection for Fall/Winter 2015. That being said, her hyper-modern outlook was tempered by hints of 1970s savoir faire and modest Edwardian touches. This rarefied fusion resulted in a truly spectacular collection, featuring noir prints, gleaming metallic coats and skirts, and dramatic fully plisséd gowns. “Mine is a world where contemporary elegance meets simplicity,” Mansour shares exclusively with Savoir Flair. Her details are exquisite, like the unexpected drop shoulder on a high-necked, ivory mini dress with bishop’s sleeves or the dynamic combination of perforated bodices that melt into thick, printed silk skirts. Although her collection features a mashup of disco-ball glitz, English lace, Edwardian dandyism, embroidered cover-ups, and chic menswear, they all factor together to create an aesthetic that is surprisingly singular and unique.
