Once again, cult accessories brand Shourouk has proven that it is both incroyable and merveilleuse (incredible and marvelous) – which also happens to be the name of its latest collection, ‘Incroyables et Merveilleuses’. Inspired by historical French leader Napoléon Bonaparte and his time spent in Imperial Russia, designer Shourouk Rhaiem created a collection embellished to perfection for the upcoming season.
The accessories designer pulled out all the stops for fall, working with everything from cups and cans to medals and monsters. Speaking exclusively to Savoir Flair, the Tunisian-born designer reveals that it’s hard to choose just one favorite from her newest pieces; “I love my new little ‘Zoulala’ monsters I created – they’re my little jewels! Also, the new medals and marble necklaces are amazing.” Renowned for mixing classic styles with new techniques and embellishments, Rhaiem incorporated Swarovski crystals, Plexiglas, marble, PVC, satin, and sequins in her Fall 2015 collection.
“For me, it’s more than jewelry; it’s all about the details and creating a piece that is perfect from all angles,” Shourouk shares. “I make jewelry because it makes me feel like a sculptor. At the end of the day, the designs stand alone as pieces of art.”
