Even if you never leave the city, Kage’s Spring/Summer 2015 lookbook will whisk you away to a tropical island paradise. The brand’s forthcoming collection centers on flirty palm frond-printed frocks, darling knit dresses, lounge pants, and lightweight shorts. The duo behind Kage, Arwa Abdelhadi and Basma Abu Ghazaleh, shared their inspiration with Savoir Flair in an exclusive interview, saying, “The Spring/Summer 2015 collection is inspired by the free-spirited and confident Kage girl. We used color to refresh, revive, and defy conventional wisdom. The composition of the palette and the inherent versatility of the individual colors allows for experimentation with new looks and color combinations to create a playful equilibrium.” The carefree nature of their work is transmitted throughout the lookbook, with the model’s movements showcasing self-confidence and playfulness, always staying true to the brand’s message and core values. “On set, we keep things tightly edited not only through styling, but through the production also; the images are true to Kage in both essence and print,” Abdelhadi and Abu Ghazaleh told Savoir Flair.
