It’s no secret that Mademoiselle Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel had a particular fondness for the beautiful camellia flower. A bloom without fragrance or thorns, and evergreen throughout the coldest of winters, it has become one of the most iconic symbols of the house of Chanel and is a continuous source of inspiration for the trendsetting brand.

For its latest timepiece collection entitled ‘Mademoiselle Privé’ – a phrase found on the door of Gabrielle Chanel’s design studio at Rue Cambon in Paris – Chanel introduces a technique never before used in the world of watchmaking. With the finest gold and silk threads, artisans hand-stitched camellia flowers along with rose-cut diamonds, flakes of gold, fine pearls, and diamonds onto plush, black fabric to create unique watch dials. Thanks to this intricate method, each exceptional timepiece is unique.

‘Mademoiselle Privé’ is available at Chanel, The Dubai Mall.
