For Spring/Summer 2015, Sarah Baadarani spins raw, organic materials into delicate works of art. In this Exclusive First Look, Savoir Flair readers are the first to gaze upon Baadarani’s radiantly beautiful collection for the upcoming season. Sumptuous linens with unfinished hemlines are developed into dainty slip dresses, while more fitted versions are elevated with rows of raffia fringe. Baadarani shifts the palette from summery neutrals to darker tones for evening, with halter-neck tops, high-waisted shorts, and glamorous striped jumpsuits that feature bewitching textures and tactile surfaces. Oversized stitches are then used to pull together sophisticated shifts and floor-length gowns, and the results are unexpected and highly polished. If you really want to stun onlookers, Baadarani’s plushly embroidered peplum accents are breathtaking. It’s rare to find a collection that celebrates raw fabrics by elevating them to the status of high fashion, but Baadarani proves that she can whip almost any type of material into an otherworldly style statement.
