In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Abu Dhabi-based fine-jewelry brand The O Jewelry created a special capsule collection called ‘In The Pink’, profits from the sale of which will go to breast cancer research. Speaking exclusively to Savoir Flair, the brand’s Emirati founder and designer, Shamsa Al Omaira, said that the name for the collection “represented the best in everything; pink as a color reflects vibrancy, positivity, and an abundance of spirit.” Initially taking inspiration from the signature pink ribbon, a symbol of hope in the fight against cancer, this special capsule collection is “an indication of genuine support to raise awareness”.
“Having seen the devastating effects of the disease first hand, it is crucial that we find the causes of breast cancer and that new, effective treatments are developed,” she told us. “Everyone has a cause they can relate to and, with having your own brand, you have the ability to create something special and dedicate it to a cause that is closest to your heart, while at the same time helping to raise awareness. In my experience, customers will really appreciate a collection tied in with a charity initiative; knowing that you bought a piece from your favorite brand and that the proceeds went to charity is very fulfilling.”
The beautiful new designs feature rings in gold and silver with pink sapphires framed in diamonds, the addition of which is the designer’s personal interpretation of an eternity of hope. The new ‘In The Pink’ collection will be available as of October 1 on www.TheOJewelry.com.
