To kick off the fourth season of Fashion Forward (FFWD), the industry’s leading platform in the Middle East, founder and CEO of FFWD Bong Guerrero announced at a press conference today that the event has partnered with WGSN – a trend forecasting portal – and Fashion GPS – an industry database – to widen the reach of the bi-annual event and engage the fashion community on a global level. All runway imagery from FFWD will be available on both sites.
Speaking on the new partnership, founder and CEO of Fashion GPS Eddie Mullon explained, “Fashion GPS was founded with the aim to connect the global fashion industry through technology. We are excited to bring the catwalks from FFWD to our international network of editors, buyers, stylists, and beyond. Via GPS Radar designers from Dubai will have exposure to over 20,000 of fashion’s elite worldwide.”
The developers of Dubai Design District (d3), TECOM Investments, are also thrilled for this new partnership. “FFWD’s dedication to nurturing regional talent mirrors d3’s ambition to grow designers from this region into international brands,” said Dr. Amina Al Rustamani, the company’s Group CEO. “Our main participation in FFWD is support of the on-going academic and developmental programmes that run throughout the event; these platforms are particularly important in helping to develop regional talent as new designers are able to gain true insight into the industry first-hand from some of the world’s leading fashion and design names.”
Fashion Forward season four will take place at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, from October 4 to October 6.
