Emerging Qatari designer Wadha Al Hajri not only has a stunning new line of clothing for Fall/Winter 2014, but she also has a stunning story to tell. This young designer splits time between motherhood, a full-time job as a research assistant, and designing for her eponymous brand, Wadha. For the forthcoming season, she reinforces her strength as an architecturally minded designer with eye-catching geometric patterns and cutouts on a minimalist, monochrome selection of daywear and eveningwear. Her silhouette is casual, if not a little slouchy, allowing her fabrics to move naturally around the body. This type of engineering and construction proves that Wadha is more than a multi-faceted designer – she’s also multi-talented. Trapeze-cut blouses are paired with skinny trousers to balance proportions, while wooly cocoon sweaters are spliced with latticework cutouts to add visual interest to the surface of the look. Her cutout embroidered cape is one of the fall season’s must-haves for its ability to elevate the style of any look you pair it with.
