For Fall/Winter 2014, luxury accessories designer Corto Moltedo explored the theme of duplicity. He presented multi-use pieces that, through the simple gesture of moving a cleverly crafted fastening or detail, transformed and seemed to take on another life.

One of the standout pieces of the ‘Lady Liberty’ collection, whose name it shares, is a shoulder bag in contrasting materials of olive-colored eel and black calfskin leather. The collection also includes clutches with versatile wrist straps and subtly sewn triangles, reminiscent of the crown atop the monumental Statue of Liberty herself.

Speaking exclusively to Savoir Flair, Moltedo said, “My fall/winter collection was inspired by the Statue of Liberty and the idea of freedom. My favorite piece is the small ‘Hudson’ bag, because it falls under the themes of duplicity and freedom.”
