Luxury e-commerce site Net-a-Porter has exclusively partnered with Nina Ricci and Leandra Medine, founder and author of popular fashion blog Man Repeller, to create a special edition version of the brand’s signature ‘Marché’ bag. Medine gave the classic bag an exotic element, using contrasting dark green snakeskin with optic white and bright citron detailing.
Speaking on this exclusive collaboration, Medine says, “I was thrilled when the team at Nina Ricci invited me to color one of their iconic ‘Marché’ bags. I knew the opportunity meant a chance to go vaguely rogue, playing with the silhouette in a way that was perhaps less expected for such a classic. I contrasted a relatively dark green with white side panels and yellow accenting. The result is a champion amongst the other purses in my cabinet of curious belongings. I am equally thrilled that it will be available on Net-a-Porter; where else would I want it? Where?”
Nina Ricci’s artistic director, Peter Copping, was just as happy about the partnership, saying, “I was extremely excited to collaborate with the Man Repeller and Leandra Medine for this limited-edition Nina Ricci ‘Marché’ handbag. I like bloggers that have a brain and are clued up and intelligent. Medine has a point of view. She is a fan of the clothes and I like how she wears them. I knew she would come up with something good.”
The Nina Ricci x Man Repeller ‘Marché’ bag retails for AED 16,870, and will be available exclusively on Net-a-Porter as of May 21st.
