Last year, the pandemic caught the whole world off guard. As most of us took to the safety of our homes, businesses struggled to stay afloat. Needless to say, it’s vital now, more than ever before, to support emerging designers and artists. Nobody understands this better than MatchesFashion, which has been committed to championing emerging designers. MatchesFashion – in partnership with Fashion Trust Arabia – recently launched the collections of the nonprofit initiative’s 2020 winners.
Fashion Trust Arabia – which has established itself as a monumental prize in the MENA region – is a philanthropic initiative with scouting, funding, and supporting emerging talent at its very core. As part of the partnership, the winning designers will be granted access to a year-long mentorship with the MatchesFashion buying team. Winners will also be awarded an impeccable learning opportunity to participate in workshops with business leaders in content, communications, branding, logistics, and e-commerce.
Natalie Kingham, Global Fashion Officer at MatchesFashion and member of the FTA Advisory Board, comments on the launch, “We are so proud to continue our partnership with Fashion Trust Arabia. Championing global design talent has always been at the heart of our business, and Fashion Trust Arabia has opened up a great opportunity to shine a light on new and innovative designers from the MENA region.”
The collections of the winning designers – Ammanii, Andrea Wazen, and Omer Asim – are now available to shop on MatchesFashion. The luxury retailer is dedicated to continuing the partnership with Fashion Trust Arabia and has committed to continuing the mentorship program for the winning 2021 designers.
