Italian luxury footwear brand Rene Caovilla is celebrating Ramadan with an exclusive Ramadan capsule collection and a unique collaboration with Emirati designer Yasmin Al Mulla. As part of the Rene Caovilla x Yasmin Al Mulla collaboration, the Emirati designer imagined an exclusive window display to celebrate the Ramadan capsule collection. Al Mulla has also designed a gorgeous dust bag for the brand, which will be sold with each of the nine pairs in the capsule collection. The co-branded dust bags – sewn out of luxe white organza fabric – reflect the designer’s minimal aesthetic while paying homage to the brand’s sheer red versions.
Speaking about her design process, Al Mulla told Savoir Flair, “I am very fond of Rene Caovilla’s timeless creations, delicate concepts, and everlasting craftsmanship. With this collaboration, my goal was to connect the heritage and beauty of Rene Caovilla with the legacy and artistic talent of every single Middle Eastern woman. The Rene Caovilla x Yasmin Al Mulla collaboration is dedicated to the powerful Middle Eastern women – women who have shaped the course of our lives with their intelligence, style, strength, elegance, and passion.”
Thanks to Yasmin Al Mulla’s vision, Rene Caovilla’s magnificent Ramadan collection can be experienced even before you step into the brand’s Dubai Mall flagship store – where the collection is housed exclusively. Designed to echo traditional Middle Eastern and Ramadan-centric themes, the display windows seamlessly blend the aesthetics of the two creative powerhouses. Bespoke panels handcrafted from dried palm leaves as a part of the Rene Caovilla x Yasmin Al Mulla collaboration make the backdrop for the sand-colored stands that hold the remarkable shoes.
Speaking about the stunning window display, the designer told Savoir Flair, “Inspired by the Holy Month of Ramadan and influenced by every single Middle Eastern woman, the panels made out of dried palm leaves are made using a traditional handcraft technique called ‘Al Khous’. They are shaped to resemble the domes of Sheikh Zayed Mosque and Middle Eastern architecture and skyscapes. It is a celebration of the beauty of our culture, the impressive modern tranquility, and the magical nights of the Holy Month.”
