Ever wondered how the iconic Hermès ‘Carré’ silk scarf comes to be? Here’s your chance to not only understand but also experience first-hand how the famed Hermès silk scarf is brought to life. After making stops in New York, Paris, Milan, and Singapore, the Hermès Carré Club will arrive in Dubai this week. The Hermès Carré Club is an interactive pop-up with the signature luxury scarf at its center. A celebration of design, the immersive experience offers guests the unique opportunity to plunge into the mesmerizing fantasy world of Hermès silks.
First debuted in 1937, the silk scarf has evolved into a signature of the French luxury house. Imaginative designs, innovative printing techniques, and narrative patterns washed in quirky shades make the soul of the silk carré. The house’s artists bag the credit for transforming a piece of silk into an exquisite work of art by adorning it with their remarkable illustration.
Divided into several areas, the exhibition allows guests to experience the magic of Hermès silks in more ways than one. At the Carré Studio, visitors can meet the artists – including Cyrille Diatkine, Gianpaolo Pagni, Octave Marsal, Théo de Gueltzl, and Daiske Nomura – and even watch them bring their creativity to life in real time. You can even witness the marvelous journey of the silk fabric as it is transformed into a scarf embossed with designer Gianpaolo Pagni‘s stamps. Further, you are invited to watch Marsal and Gueltzloperate operate their mammoth drawing machine.
Having traveled through time, the Hermès silk scarf naturally has many tales to tell – all of which you can hear at Carré Stories. Curious about styling your silk piece? Head to Carré Knot to learn the art of knotting a scarf. Need a moment to marvel over the design process? Take a break at the Carré Café. Sing your heart out at Carré OK and freeze the moment in time at Carré Click. After you’re done exploring the exhibition, the final stop is the Carré Mania, which offers a variety of women’s and men’s scarves including limited editions in the exhibition’s colors.
