It’s almost here – after months of teasing, the fourth season of The Crown will arrive on Netflix this Sunday, November 15th. While the release of every season of the series has been a highly anticipated affair, fans of the Netflix original are incredibly excited about the fourth season. The reason? Princess Diana’s arrival. After three long seasons, the regal drama will (finally) enter what has now been dubbed ‘the Diana era’.
After several teasers and a three-minute long trailer, it is evident that Emma Corrin – who plays Princess Diana – is at the heart of the upcoming season. In fact, it has fast become clear that the show will cover a large chunk of the Princess of Wales’ life as a royal, including her wedding to Prince Charles and the birth of her sons. Yes, we know what that means. We get to relive the late Princess’ stunning fashion moments on-screen.
Although effortless, Princess Diana’s style oozed with glamour and continues to get people talking. We – much like everyone else– simply can’t wait to watch the on-screen recreations of her sartorial choices. As we wait, we can’t help but scrutinize every bit of the teasers and photographs to best predict Princess Diana’s outfits that we might see imitated on-screen. Here are the ones we hope to see.
This Embellished Asymmetric Gown
One of her many marvelous gowns, we’d love to see Corrin in a recreation of Diana’s dazzling crystal-beaded asymmetric gown by Japanese designer Hachi, which she wore to attend a gala dinner in Wahington D.C. in 1985.
This Pink Suit Set
We’ve already spotted Corrin – who looks like a spitting image of the late Princess – wearing a replica of her pink polka dot Donald Campbell dress and a statement fascinator that she wore on an Australian tour in 1983. We would love to see the actress don the recreation of another one of the late royal’s pink ensembles – the pink Versace suit set, complete with a Phillip Somerville pillbox hat.
This Effortless Ensemble
While we aren’t sure of the exact timeline of the fourth season, we hope to see Corrin in this uber-chic look that the late Princess chose for a visit to Angola as part of her charity efforts.
The Revenge Dress
The Princess of Wales had a knack for making statements through her sartorial choices, and this off-shoulder dress by Greek designer Christina Stambolian, that she wore to the Serpentine Gallery’s summer party, spoke volumes – if you know, you know. Will the series recreate this sensational dress? Only a couple more days till we find out.
This Slip Dress
Can anyone make a simple white slip dress look so glamorous? Probably not. Nevertheless, we’d love to see Corrin emulate the princess’ effortless elegance, which remains unparalleled.
This Floral Gown
We can all agree that this magnificent ruched gown by Catherine Walker deserves a spot on-screen. Will it make the cut? We certainly hope so.
Diana was the ultimate suit set fan and was often snapped sporting one. We’d love to see these powerful looks recreated on-screen.
This Casual Outfit
As much as we’d love to see the late royal’s dazzling gowns replicated on-screen, we’d very much enjoy a glimpse of her casual-chic style too. Will we see it on-screen? Only one way to find out.
