For Spring/Summer 2014, fashion heavy-hitters Noon by Noor take a lighter approach to daywear dressing.
Noon by Noor, founded by Bahraini cousins Sheikha Noor Al Khalifa and Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa, is still in its emerging design years, but you’d never be able to tell (after all, the duo are the only young Arab designers showing on schedule at New York Fashion Week). Their sophisticated offerings evolve each season, and the brand’s sense of fashionable refinement has struck chords with some of the industry’s most elite acolytes, with such notable names as Solange Knowles and Leigh Lezark appearing front row at their latest show in New York.
For the warmer season, they’ve envisioned a pastel palette, appointed on tropical prints and lean silhouettes, all inspired by the Tree of Life in their homeland of Bahrain. Floral printed tunic dresses with ruched necklines, gauzy princess gowns, and frond-printed shifts speak to women of all ages. The youth crowd will love tossing a frayed denim jacket over the eye-popping cropped tops and flirty frocks in the collection, while a more sophisticated audience will find a bounty of workwear-appropriate trousers and trim jackets decorated with flower appliqués. For evening, there are bright orange maxi skirts, sequin-scattered sleeveless gowns, and a two-piece appliquéd look in ivory and navy that will win over even the most tomboyish among us. It’s an easy route to getting gorgeous for spring – just follow the Noon by Noor lookbook for inspiration.
