There’s no denying the fact that Arab accomplishments are quite literally skyrocketing. In a historic first, Lebanese designer Sandra Mansour has announced a collection in collaboration with H&M. While H&M’s storied collaboration history includes names like Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, and Alexander Wang, Mansour is the first Arab designer to do so.
Mansour took to Instagram to share a campaign video of the Sandra Mansour x H&M collection. “This campaign and collaboration coming into fruition and my ability to share it with all of you is beyond measure. As a woman, I am proud. As a Lebanese, I am proud. As a designer, I am also very proud. I’m proud to present to you the ‘Fleur Du Soleil’ collection, and my wonderful journey collaborating with H&M,” she wrote.
Mansour’s collection for the Swedish retail giant is reflective of her signature romantic aesthetic with an edgy twist. Floaty ruffled skirts are styled with hoodies while dreamy tiered dresses are teamed up with hardy boots to highlight the youthful element of the retailer. The neutral color palette features shades of black, ivory, and muted mushroom greys.
Speaking about the collection, Mansour said, “The inspiration for the H&M collection was nature and natural elements. Poetry and painters inspired the selection of fabric – the dark laces, jacquards, and embroidered organza. With the ‘Fleur du Soleil’ collection, I wanted to send women around the world a message of hope, something we all need right now.”
The collection will be available in selected stores worldwide & online, starting August 6, 2020.
