And with that, the red carpet extravaganza of awards season comes to an end. The 92nd Academy Awards is the glamorous, glittering finish line to an annual season celebrating the best in entertainment. Since it’s the most prestigious of the ceremonies, everyone saves their best looks for last. As the most anticipated – and consequently, most criticized – red carpet event of the year, A-listers have no choice but to bring their A-game. And it worked.

We were served a stunning ruffled moment in teal by Florence Pugh in Louis Vuitton, which may sound like a 1980s prom nightmare, but was actually one of the most charming looks of the evening. Brie Larson and Natalie Portman opted for dramatic capes to top their embellished gowns, while Sandra Oh and America Ferrera’s looks embraced the romantic puff sleeve trend. Renée Zellweger, Mindy Kaling, and Scarlett Johansson kept their looks classic with Old Hollywood silhouettes, while Kristen Wiig and Olivia Colman stayed on the experimental side of things. See all of the best-dressed celebrities from the Oscars 2020 red carpet in the gallery, below.
