Living in a consumer era – translation: we define ourselves by what we buy and the brands we align with – means that you can tell a lot about a person by their purchases and preferences. And when it comes to luxury indulgences, it should come as no surprise that supermodel Gigi Hadid has supremely refined taste.
Since she’s constantly trotting the globe for work – which means exotic shoot locales and five-star stays – Hadid has easily honed in on her favorite places to visit. Along the way, she has also developed an opinion or two on luxury indulgences, including fine jewelry pieces, interior design favorites, and more. If you’ve ever wondered what the model stocks her home, jewelry box, and beauty shelf with, keep reading.
What little luxury do you love?
Sunglasses – eyewear can make jeans and a T-shirt really come together. It sets the tone of your outfit and is like a mask to face the world with.
Favorite piece of jewelry?
The ‘Move Addiction’ earrings from my first collaboration with Messika. That signature shape means so much to Valerie [Messika] and me, and it got incredible support. It was such a joy to see women all over the world wear and love them.
Design classic you treasure?
I recently made my first design investment. I have always loved the Roche Bobois ‘Mah Jong’ sofa, and being able to custom-build and design my own was a dream. I ended up using fabrics from both Missoni and Jean Paul Gaultier. I have special memories with both design houses so it just felt right. I’m excited to have the piece in my home.
Artwork you admire?
Petra, Jordan. I consider that city one of the most genius pieces of sculpture on the planet.
Your beauty indulgence?
I love ‘Melrose Place’ perfume by Ouai.
The Conservatorium in Amsterdam. It’s one of the most architecturally unique buildings I’ve ever seen. Designed as a bank in the 19th century, it later became a music school, and the space that is now the lobby is a glass box added on to the original façade. The rooms are just as interesting because of the history. It’s beautiful.
Ultimate luxury escape?
Any hotel in or around Bora Bora in French Polynesia. It takes a long time to get there, but it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in the world. The scenery, colors, and wildlife are unlike anything else I’ve seen.
A 1969 Ford ‘Bronco’.
