[Spoilers ahead, but not those kind of spoilers. Promise.]
Thanos snapped, and just like that the Marvel landscape changed radically. Avengers: Infinity War, the penultimate film in the Avengers franchise, left the audience with an ending that shocked. It was so distressing that anticipation for Avengers: Endgame has reached a fever pitch unlike any other film release we’ve ever witnessed. In fact, there has been an Internet-wide campaign pleading with moviegoers not to spoil the finale of the film for the rest of us – and so far, it seems to be working.
While all this waiting around has been excruciating, there is one silver lining: the red carpet premiere in Los Angeles. Not only has it provided a few clues about the nature of the Avengers: Endgame movie (we’re still deciphering Natalie Portman’s presence on the red carpet), but it also showcased stars like Zoe Saldana and Brie Larson at their radiant best. The film promises to bring together the entire Marvel universe, which means the red carpet has featured a seemingly endless cast of A-list celebrities, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Hemsworth.
It was no surprise that the premiere drew equally high-profile guests. Among those who attended were Miley Cyrus, Evangeline Lilly, and Elizabeth Olsen – each serving looks. From Zoe Saldana’s insanely flattering Givenchy dress (paired with nearly $100,000 worth of custom jewelry by Jared Lehr, no less) to Miley Cyrus’ custom Saint Laurent gown, we’ve rounded up some of the most droolworthy looks from the premiere of a film we can’t stop, won’t stop talking about.
Zoe Saldana magnificently worked a magenta-hued Givenchy Couture dress paired with custom-made jewelry by Jared Lehr.
Brie Larson proved that sometimes less is more, complementing her custom, lilac Celine dress with jewelry by Irene Neuwirth.
Natalie Portman wore a collared black dress emblazoned with sparkling imprints to the premiere, and we couldn’t help but wonder what her appearance meant.
Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her legs in a chic, oversized blazer – sans pants – and strappy sandals.
Between her blonde locks and that gleaming minidress, Scarlett Johansson’s sunny look is the complete opposite of what Black Widow typically prefers to wear.
Danai Gurira turned heads in a fuschia Oscar de la Renta gown accented with a pair of black Jimmy Choo heels.
Scottish actress Karen Gillan rocked a fully-tasseled black and red look designed by Christopher Kane.
Elizabeth Olsen wore a teal, crystal-beaded Alexandre Vauthier dress with a plunging neckline to the high-profile occasion.
Actress and activist Evangeline Lilly dressed to kill in a red and black wide-leg pantsuit by Denis Gagnon.
Tessa Thompson’s unique cut-out dress by sustainable couture brand Ronald van der Kemp was nothing short of a showstopper.
