When a dress is so nice, why not wear it twice? While many know Kate Middleton as the Duchess of Cambridge, we consider her the Queen of Repeat for her ability to make something old look new again. Attending a gala hosted by the National Portrait Gallery, “thrifty Kate” wore an Alexander McQueen dress that looked a little familiar – like, 2017 familiar.
We did a double take upon seeing her black floral-print gown, which she wore two years ago to the BAFTAs, but ingeniously put a little twist on last night. By reworking the sleeves and letting her hair down into loose, relaxed waves instead of a sophisticated updo, Middleton managed to create the illusion of a whole new ensemble altogether. But with a masterpiece by Alexander McQueen hanging in her closet, that just makes plain sense to us.
