The latest Chanel collection didn’t stray far from the brand’s DNA, but rather showcased fresh renditions of its signature staples enhanced by light tweeds in spring hues, lace trims, and that iconic double-C logo. A foray into a more leisurely direction took Karl Lagerfeld to the French Riviera for his designs – metaphorically at least. Admittedly, it felt a little more literal if you were at the Spring/Summer 2019 show, which brought the beach to the audience by way of lapping waves and real sand.
Once again bringing his Midas touch to the camera, Lagerfeld photographed rising stars Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, Adesuwa Aighewi, Kris Grikaite, Sarah Dahl, Nora Attal, Vittoria Ceretti, and Hyun Ji Shin for the season’s RTW campaign. Clad in the most luxurious tweeds, their hair slicked back, and posing in harmony, these fresh faces embody the next generation of Chanel women – youthful, confident, and forever stylish. Luckily for us, photographer Olivier Saillant was there to capture all the behind-the-scenes action in these images shared exclusively with Savoir Flair.
