A thornless flower without scent, the camellia is possibly the most recognizable emblem of Chanel jewelry. Once reserved for men’s boutonnières, it has found its way to the necklines and hands of the independent – and incomparable – Chanel woman in the form of diamond-encrusted gold. And just as Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel intended, the camellia has fundamentally ingrained itself into Chanel’s DNA with its intertwining petals, perfect symmetry, and soft white hue – arguably more within the ‘Camélia’ fine jewelry line than anywhere else.

‘Pétales de Camélia’ is a welcome addition to the already beloved collection, with dainty rose-gold earrings, charming necklaces, and blooming rings that transcend trends. Now, in a new campaign, Alma Jodorowsky is back to demonstrate how bold the camellia-wearer really is. Through two videos rife with film noir vibes, the French model/actress and Chanel ambassador paints a picture of a mysterious woman. She’s hiding in the shadows in one, and lying leisurely on a diving board alongside a submerged car in the other – yet it’s the elegant, instantly iconic ‘Pétales de Camélia’ pieces that command attention in both. Explore them in the gallery before seeing more of the camellia-clad Alma Jodorowsky in the video, above.
