When Gigi Hadid announced her collaborative collection with Reebok, we were excited to say the least. Now, ‘Reebok x Gigi Hadid’ is here and giving us major 90s vibes. Considering the supermodel’s past as a volleyball star and the brand’s titan-like status in the world of activewear, this is a match made in athleisure heaven. Between the vibrant color scheme and plethora of retro-inspired gear – everything from cropped jackets, track pants, and sports bras are included – the variety translates seamlessly from gym to street.
Hadid opened up about the experience, saying, “Designing my first athleisure collection for [Reebok] was everything I’d hoped. Growing up, sports played such a big part in my life, and many of the lessons I learned as an athlete have been true guides for me in my personal and professional life.” For the collection’s launch, she visited the Dream Charter School in New York, taking to the volleyball court and even bringing out two of her old coaches to join her in the celebration. Signing sneakers and playing with the students, the model proved that her athletic past came in handy in the design process, as evidenced by this album she posted on her Instagram account.

Hadid first gave us a sneak peek of this collaboration in November before a mini six-piece collection of footwear and apparel launched in early December, throughout which the ‘Freestyle Hi’ sneaker was a focal point. Seeing the rest of the final results, the emphasis on the old-school sneaker is evident – with plenty of symbolism behind it.
Referencing the history of the kicks, the model was all about female empowerment, explaining, “The ‘Freestyle Hi’ was the first shoe ever created for women by an athletic company. Before that, women were working out in men’s clothing and men’s shoes, and I think this silhouette is a really amazing symbol of including women in athletics.” Now that the full collection is available in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE, our workout wardrobes are collectively ready for a hefty dose of nostalgia, courtesy of Hadid.
