With eight nominations, Lady Gaga’A Star Is Born was the one to watch, but it was her sartorial choices that seemed to garner the most anticipation. Indeed, as far as award seasons go, the ceremonies themselves are important and the nominations impact the actors for a lifetime – but so does their fashion. For the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards, the stars proved that they were here to win big on the silver screen and the red – or in this case blue – carpet.

As far as color was concerned, black-and-white was the look du jour. Similar to her outfit at the Golden GlobesJulia Roberts once again opted for a pant suit, this time a custom Louis VuittonNicole Kidman brought her best in Armani Privé, Chrissy Teigen showed off a little leg in a high-cut Maison Yeya gown, and Olivia Munn packed a punch in a polka-dot Andrew Gn dress. Other standouts who strayed from the muted palette were Gemma Chan in a floral Jason Wu dress and The Good Place Star Jameela Jamil in a metallic-green Oscar de la Renta number.
