By and large, the Golden Globes — one of the biggest events on the entertainment calendar — act as a precursor to the entirety of the awards season. Who will win? Who will lose? And, of course, who will be best dressed?
After a show of solidarity at the 2018 ceremony, where female attendees wore head-to-toe black in support of the ‘Time’s Up’ movement, last night’s Golden Globes red carpet was a far departure from the previous year’s. And, with accolades honoring the best in film and television (which meant double the actresses), there was twice the opportunity to see momentous fashion on our favorite celebrities.
As Hollywood gathered to officially kick off awards season, there was no shortage of star power, including Globes nominee (and now Oscar contender) Lady Gaga in an unforgettable Valentino gown that was one for the history books. Meanwhile, Arab designers Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad made a serious case for the superiority of Middle Eastern talent by dressing the likes of Anne Hathaway.
Below, a rollout of memorable fashion courtesy of last night’s ceremony.
