In the States, they call weather like this an “Indian Summer” – seemingly endless summer that extends far past its welcome. It’s October, the time you’d expect to see velvet gowns, silk capes, and long sleeves on the red carpet – but not this year. Instead, the red carpet is still packed with hot-weather looks like sleeveless gowns, lightweight embroidered frocks, and micro minidresses. Sparkles, lace, pink fabric, and snakeskin also speak to the mood that still pervades. Who is doing the best at staying cool this week? We’re asking you to decide by voting in the poll, below.

1

Alicia Vikander

Look by Louis Vuitton

Alicia Vikander’s mixed textures and autumnal tones were one part summer, one part fall – and entirely chic.

Rihanna

Rihanna looks like she’s ready for a vacation, but instead, she wore this head-to-toe snakeskin look to a Fenty Beauty premiere and officially launched our lust for a bucket hat.

Kate Bosworth

Dress by Mulberry

If we didn’t know better, we’d think Kate Bosworth was wearing her adorable Mulberry ‘Daphne’ dress to a summer wedding or an outdoor tea party.

Lea Seydoux

Look by Louis Vuitton

Lea Seydoux demonstrated the many sides of Louis Vuitton in a head-to-toe look that put sharply tailored menswear at the fore – something that would later come to reflect its Spring/Summer 2019 runway show.

The young directors behind the Oscar de la Renta brand have found the perfect muse in Zoë Kravitz. Her natural beauty and rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic bring out the best in their contemporary designs.

Jennifer Lopez

Jumpsuit by Tom Ford

Jennifer Lopez brings a ferocious attitude to the red carpet, and we love her for it. There aren’t many celebrities who would dare a skintight, sequined Tom Ford jumpsuit, but she makes it look easy.
