It doesn’t take long for the name Chanel to evoke tweed jackets, metallic details, and – of course – that iconic CC emblem. The signature features that embody the brand stole the attendees’ hearts during the maison’s Fall/Winter 2018 runway show, which was followed by an ad campaign to memorialize the latest creations of Karl Lagerfeld.
In true Chanel fashion, the collection – which drew inspiration from the English countryside and exudes fall vibes through fingerless gloves and rich brocade textiles – did so much more than set trends; it also introduced the world to ‘Chanel 31’, which achieved “It” bag status almost immediately. Lagerfeld, once again, proved himself a man of many talents for the corresponding campaign, alternating between design genius and photographer by stepping behind the camera. As for the hidden moments behind all this action? They were captured intimately by photographer Olivier Saillant.
The stills of the campaign showcase fresh-faced models Grace Elizabeth, Luna Bijl, HoYeon Jung, Nina Marker, Vittoria Ceretti, Adesuwa Aighewi, Yoon Young Bae, and Rebecca Leigh – all rising stars in their own right. Each shot is a glimpse at the diverse cast creating sartorial magic as they pose, smile playfully for the camera, and chat with Lagerfeld.
