Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have made quite the stylish pair when appearing in public in the past, but the duo’s latest outing was particularly special. The new Duchess of Sussex stepped out with Duchess of Cambridge for the first time without their respective husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William, in tow.
The women cheered on the players at Wimbledon 2018 and all eyes were on what they were wearing in the VIP stands, as they (perhaps unintentionally) represented their native countries.
Kate looked great as she enjoyed the Ladies’ Singles Final tennis tournament during her maternity after giving birth to Prince Louis in April. The 34-year-old wore a black-and-white dress with flattering ruching detail around the neck and waist. Accessorizing with a cream bag, the print detail on her Jenny Packham frock hints at tennis ball silhouettes, and seeing as the Duchess is the patron of the All England Club, it’s no surprise Kate was somewhat festive with her British-designed outfit.

Meghan stood out as she sported a casual striped Ralph Lauren shirt. She paired the piece from the American designer with cream wide-leg trousers. Meghan has had a few significant royal engagements since her wedding to Prince Harry in May – including her first overseas tour to Ireland, the RAF100 celebrations, and a trip to Chester with Queen Elizabeth. She has gone for particularly polished ensembles recently, but her latest outfit is another smart casual look to her bank of memorable pieces.
The American-born royal – who turns 37 on August 4 – watched the USA’s Serena Williams (who attended the royal wedding in Windsor) take on Germany’s Angelique Kerber on the court. Prior to the match, Kate joined Meghan to meet players and ball girls, also watching 11-year-old Tia Carter perform the Coin Toss on behalf of RAF Benevolent Fund.
After Serena Williams and her Reddit co-founder husband, Alexis Ohanian, watched Prince Harry’s charity polo match earlier in July, we should expect plenty more where this came from for Serena and Meghan future public appearances.
