With over 30 years of watchmaking expertise and horological excellence, Chanel is back again with dynamic new additions to its iconic ‘J12’ luxury timepiece range. Like Mademoiselle Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s groundbreaking use of unusual materials like jersey and tweed in her fashion collections, Chanel’s use of ceramics to create its ‘J12’ line shocked the watch world when it first debuted in 2000. Two decades later, Chanel’s ‘J12’ range is still one of the most innovative in the business.
Ceramics (typically a simple, brittle substance), are crafted into sturdy works of art by use of Chanel’s own high-tech ceramic material, as well as threading 18k gold between each section which ensures beautiful flexibility, durability, and movement.
For 2018, Chanel has debuted a 12-piece set of one-of-a-kind watches, celebrating the number 12, which has become part of the house codes. Seen together in a row, the 12 pieces in the collection form an exquisite polyptych designed by Chanel’s Watchmaking Creative Studio. This limited-edition series is finished with ceramic marquetry dials and bezels in an eye-catching monochrome motif that makes the timepiece versatile enough to wear with anything.
