The minute Fendi’s ‘Peekaboo’ bag hit the market in 2009, it was a hit, and we have Silvia Venturini Fendi to thank for that. Having grown up in the family business, Fendi is tasked with operating the accessories side of the empire that she shares with Karl Lagerfeld. With an eye for style woven into her DNA, Silvia landed on a design that became an instant “It” bag, with its signature ‘Peekaboo’ lip that folds down to reveal an eye-popping patterned interior.

Fendi describes the bag as belonging to the “rebel” faction of fashion, pointing to the juxtaposition of its handsome, minimal exterior and lavishly appointed interior – an unexpected and unconventional contrast that surely catches the eye of the iconoclastic fashion girl. In this exclusive video, newcomer Maya Khodr exemplifies the rebel side of the bag’s aesthetic, her energy and youth pairing perfectly with the ‘Peekaboo’. Never has rebellion looked so enticing.
