We’re so used to admiring red-carpet looks from the swanky events in London and Los Angeles, but this week, the stars ventured a little further afield to the city we call home. With the opening of both the Bulgari Resort Dubai and the Dubai International Film Festival, we weren’t short of eveningwear inspiration. Keep scrolling to discover the best looks from the region – and beyond – this week, and vote for your favorite in the poll below.
Dress by Fendi
This week, jewelry giant Bulgari unveiled its very first hotel in Dubai and, as expected, it’s breathtakingly beautiful. Celebrities and media gathered in the hundreds to celebrate the opening, and amongst them were brand ambassadors such as Bella Hadid. The model wears a striking yellow satin dress by Fendi, finishing her look with lashings of glamorous Bulgari jewels obviously.
Gown by Valentino
Looking every inch the fairytale, Keira Knightley channels vintage princess vibes in a Valentino Spring 2018 gown for the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards. The green velvet bows add drama to her look, while the nude tulle is nothing short of ethereal.
Dress by Jonathan Simkhai
Also in town for the Bulgari Resort Dubai opening was the impeccably chic actress Alicia Vikander, who is usually known for her edgier red-carpet choices. This week, however, she opts for a romantic silhouette, complete with blush tones and a corseted waist.
Look by Coach
Since revealing her new blonde locks at the AMAs, Selena Gomez seems to have switched up her usually polished style for a more bohemian aesthetic, highlighted here by her Victorian-inspired outfit by Coach. The look is a little grown-up for the songstress, but her chunky coat keeps it cool.
Dress by Dundas
Jasmine Sanders (otherwise known as “Golden Barbie”) pays homage to the region, wearing a bright Dundas kaftan that wouldn’t look out of place at a chic Ramadan affair. The orange piece stands out amongst the glitterati in attendance at the Bulgari Resort Dubai opening, along with the stunning jewelry that finishes Sanders’ look.
Dress by Giorgio Armani
This week saw some of Hollywood’s finest descend on the UAE for the 14th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival. Among them is Cate Blanchett, whose Giorgio Armani gown is a step away from her usual red-carpet style, but is impactful nonetheless. The contrast of floral patterns, sheer pleats, and bold tones make this look a winner in our eyes.
Look by Ashi Studio
Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor walks the red carpet at the opening of the Dubai International Film Festival wearing an Ashi Studio Spring 2018 look. Her outfit is timeless, comprising a pleated floor-length skirt with a matching corset and long-sleeved duster coat. We hope to see more romantic tailoring from Kapoor because she does it flawlessly.
