Are you in weekend mode yet? You should be! With the UAE National Day falling on Saturday 2nd December this year, some sectors have as many as four days off work — including yours truly. In anticipation for the long weekend, Dubai’s social and events calendar is absolutely jam-packed with ways to spend your extra time off.
But of course, a full social calendar means attention to outfits must be paid, and now that cooler temperatures are creeping in, the options are endless. To get you inspired, Savoir Flair rounds up all the outfit inspiration you need for your busy weekend ahead, below.
For Market Wandering
Meandering around one of Dubai’s al fresco markets is one way to make the most of the amazing winter weather, and kick your weekend off in super-chill fashion. Opt for a loose-fitting co-ord for lazy days outdoors. They’re a great way to make a minimal-effort outfit look put together. And of course, comfortable sandals are a must.
For Fancy Dining
A weekend well spent brings a week of content — and if you’re going to work on your Instagram grid, why not start with some of Dubai’s best new restaurants? For dinner, make the most of the cooler climate by balancing a fluid dress with leather or suede ankle boots. Floral patterns or color-blocking will earn you extra style kudos.
For Outdoor Viewing
If you’ve booked your ticket for some 90s comedic viewing at one of Dubai’s outdoor cinemas, you better dress for an evening chill. December sunsets can get a little nippy in the UAE, so layer a casual dress or skirt with a cable knit or cashmere sweater, and finish with sensible shoes.
For Hitting The Dancefloor
Planning on donning your party shoes this weekend? We say up the ante and go full-on holiday mode with sequins, embellishment, and cozy textures like velvet or leather. Or if you’re not quite ready to do head-to-toe sparkle, swap your simple accessories for something that twinkles.
For Breaking a Sweat... And Brunching Afterward
A weekend in the UAE wouldn’t be complete without some form of yoga, bootcamp or outdoor sweat-breaking session. If you’re trying to fit a workout in, but still make it to lunch with your friends, simply layer your sports gear with formal pieces like a blazer and oversized sunglasses. Athleisure for the win!
For Mall Hopping
Still in a Black Friday state of mind? If you’re hitting the shops hard, make sure your outfit is comfortable with a capital C. Sneakers are best for these kind of days, and be sure to wear something you can easily remove — no one likes fiddling with shirt buttons in a 40-degree fitting room.
