For a designer so consumed with all things future-oriented, it was something of a surprise when Karl Lagerfeld decided to design a show inspired by Grecian ruins for Chanel Cruise 2018. Savoir Flair reimagines the setting that Lagerfeld had in mind when constructing his nomadic collection, looking to the decaying and sand-swept ruins of Fujairah.

Infused with tactile surfaces, poetic silhouettes, and intricate embellishment, the clothes take on a sort of timeless appeal against a backdrop of the desert’s melancholic romance. By tapping into ancient beauty, Chanel’s Cruise 2018 collection becomes a transportative vehicle that journeys back in time to prove some looks will always be in style.
