Aaaaaaaaand breathe. Fashion Month is officially over, which means Instagram can now resume its regular programming of avocado on toast, fancy tiled floors, and influencers perched perfectly on sandy beaches. But while the rich, famous, and uber-stylish pack up their suitcases and head back home, we’re still creating lengthy wish lists for Spring/Summer 2018 – with Parisian brands proudly taking the top spot.
When it comes to knockout accessories, Fashion Month really did save the best until last. As the home of some of the world’s most gorgeous fashion maisons – Christian Dior, Chanel, and Saint Laurent included – it should come as no surprise that Paris completely dominated this season with its finishing touches.
Overall, there were two clear narratives across the entire week for bags, shoes, and jewelry: new-age bohemia and simple sophistication. Elie Saab, Carven, and Isabel Marant all went ethereal with floral drop earrings, oversized straw hats, and tasseled belts. In contrast, Céline, Givenchy, and Lanvin kept their collections super slick, using a mix of leather and metal on double-buckled belts, chunky bracelets, and mini belt bags.
The ultimate show-stopper, however, had to be the new collection of Chloé handbags, courtesy of recently appointed Creative Director Natacha Ramsay-Levi. She joined the label after serving as Nicolas Ghesquière’s “right-hand woman” at Louis Vuitton, and her debut collection for Spring/Summer 2018 did not disappoint. We’re predicting that the fashion masses will descend upon every Chloé store globally when the complex multifaceted bag, below, finally hits the shelves.
