Are you the type of girl who favors a good gum sole and quality leather upper over a statement heel? We feel you. For true sneakerheads, there’s no better feeling than discovering a new drop from your favorite trainer brand, slipping your feet into the latest “It” label, or getting your hands on a coveted limited-edition style. And for fans in the Middle East, sneaker culture is becoming increasingly rampant, thanks to events like Sole DXB and the birth of creative hubs such as BYND72 by Adidas.

But let’s be honest. The sneaker world is a competitive one and, with the popularity of sneakers rising, the desire for fresh styles that are yet to be admired by the masses is at an all-time high. With this in mind, Savoir Flair brings to you four new sneaker offerings, including a new designer collaboration, a niche brand on the rise, and an opportunity to source a truly one-off pair.

1

Kenzo

‘Move’ by Kenzo is the brand’s first ever unisex sneaker and was launched as part of its new collection, La Collection Memento N°1. The shoe features an archival tiger motif that was used at the time of brand founder Kenzo Takada, but brings the shape into 2017 with its slender appearance, popping colors, and gender-neutral design.

Kenzo ‘Move’ is available to buy at Kenzo, The Dubai Mall.

2

The Nou Project

Any sneakerhead worth their salt will understand the theory that a good pair of trainers is a work of art, and that’s exactly the ethos followed by The Nou Project. The concept behind the label is to support emerging artists from all over the world, through limited-edition sneaker collaborations. Founded by Saudi-born Nour Al Tamimi and co-designed by Lebanese-born Basma Chidiac, the brand is now based in New York City and takes inspiration from its bustling streets and the original artwork seen at every turn.

The Nou Project is available to buy here.

3

Puma x Sophia Webster

The perfect choice for the fashion girl who favors classic styles, this collaboration between sneaker giant Puma and luxury footwear designer Sophia Webster is a match made in trainer heaven. Known for her kitsch designs, quirky patterns, and bold colorways, Webster has injected the best of her know-how into this capsule collection. Our pick has to be the original suede style, which is reworked in electric blue and neon pink.

Puma x Sophia Webster is available to buy at Puma, The Dubai Mall.

4

Dolce & Gabbana

Picking the right pair of sneakers is such a personal experience and, thanks to the new Dolce & Gabbana pop-up in Dubai, you can go one step further by customizing your pieces. Taking place at Harvey Nichols until the end of October, the Italian fashion house gives you the option of personalizing your pair with patches, colorful stitching, and painted motifs.

Dolce & Gabbana sneakers are available to buy and personalize at Harvey Nichols in Mall of the Emirates.
