In the hyper-excited words of Joey Tribbiani, “London, baby!” This week, double-decker buses and red-brick buildings are replacing NYC’s backdrop of gleaming skyscrapers to infuse a quintessentially British aesthetic into the Instagram accounts of showgoers. The past 48 hours have seen the street-style set don their best for the first half of the biannual event and, so far, they are serving nothing but looks.
The city’s designers have also provided a solid two days of fashion feasting. Among the most noteworthy is Mary Katrantzou, who showcased a new direction by opting for sporty fabrics and highly voluminous silhouettes. Meanwhile, legendary label Burberry followed a much younger narrative than what we’re used to seeing from the British heritage brand.
From oversized jackets emblazoned with cheeky slogans to pops of color through standout accessories, there’s no denying that London is a sartorially savvy city both on and off the runway. To give you a taste of what’s still left to come, Savoir Flair rounds up the best street-style looks seen at London Fashion Week (so far). Browse the gallery below, and check back later in the week for plenty more.
