It’s not only the provocative The Great Gatsby film by Baz Luhrmann or the fact that the roaring 20s are in fashion right now that prompted this shoot. The consensus in intellectual circles is that the turmoil of the new millennium has sparked a new Lost Generation – a name originally applied to young people living in the 20s during World War I. This is the setting of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby that featured wanton drinking, dancing and reckless lifestyles on the North Shore of Long Island, NY in 1925.
Shot in Paris by Jeremy Zaessinger and featuring models Masha Voronina and Helene Desmettre, our gorgeous spread showcases modern takes on flapper style, with a slightly haunting undertone. The Gatsby character, Daisy, is brought to life by our imaginative team of stylists. Our timely photo shoot pays tribute to the novel, the film, the era, and our present day lives that seem to be living out an echo from the past.
