Today, RnB royalty and triple threat Jennifer Lopez blows out 48 candles – and turns even sexier. The singer-dancer-actress has been topping the charts since she first shot to fame in 1999 with debut single “If You Had My Love”, both musically and sartorially. In fact, we’re picturing the white tracksuit and hoop earrings as we speak. And, as she turns another year closer to 50, the age-defying star shows no sign of slowing down in the style stakes.

Lopez has worn a long list of noteworthy gowns and crystal-embellished jumpsuits to red-carpet events over the years, but one look was so controversially stunning that it made history. In the year 2000, JLo attended the Grammy Awards with then-boyfriend Sean Combs wearing a gown that sparked over half a million downloads less than 24 hours after it was worn. Cut to the navel, fastened with a brooch, and slit to the thigh, the green Versace gown was so jaw-dropping that Google Chairman Eric Schmidt claims it was the exact reason he launched a way to search for imagery, now known as Google Images. Yes, really.
